We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who are committed to serving others with kindness, respect, and integrity.

Volunteer Expectations

As a volunteer, you agree to:

Treat Everyone with Respect

Show compassion, dignity, and respect to clients, volunteers, donors, partners, and community members.

Maintain Confidentiality

Protect the privacy of anyone receiving services. Do not share personal or confidential information learned while volunteering.

Be Reliable

Arrive on time, fulfill your commitments, and notify us as soon as possible if you cannot attend a scheduled volunteer opportunity.

Represent the Foundation Professionally

While volunteering, you represent Anchored Hearts Foundation. Please act professionally, respectfully, and in a manner that reflects our mission and values.

Follow Safety Guidelines

Comply with all safety procedures and instructions during events, programs, and volunteer activities.

Work as Part of a Team

Support fellow volunteers and staff by communicating respectfully and working together to accomplish our mission.

Volunteer Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age, or have parental/guardian permission if under 18.

Complete a volunteer application.

Agree to follow all foundation policies and procedures.

Maintain the confidentiality of client information.

Attend orientation or training when required.

Pass a background check if volunteering in a role that requires one.

Additional requirements may apply depending on the volunteer role.

Background Checks & Clearances

Anchored Hearts Foundation is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for our clients, volunteers, and community.

Some volunteer positions may require a criminal background check and/or other clearances before service begins. These positions may include, but are not limited to:

Working directly with vulnerable individuals or families
Visiting clients in homes or healthcare facilities
Handling confidential client information
Supervising youth volunteers
Roles determined by the foundation to require additional screening

If a background check or clearance is required for your volunteer role, you will be notified during the application process and provided with instructions.

Please note: Having a criminal history does not automatically disqualify an applicant. Each situation will be reviewed individually in accordance with applicable laws and the responsibilities of the volunteer position.
